The Black Tote Bag

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 21:22
22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
John 14:13
13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 15:16
16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

Each quarter I have an opportunity to earn a prize from the company that I work for.  There are always two to three different prizes to select from in each category based on what you have achieved in sales that quarter.

Last week I shared with a friend that I really wanted to earn a black tote bag that was on the prize board. At that time I was still several hundred dollars away in sales, from earning the bag.   My friend and I talked about ideas for a sale that I could have with my customers so that I could earn the bag.  As we brainstormed, she gave me a great idea, and I was off and running.  I notified my customers but only 3 purchased right away. Several days went by and I heard from no one, but I didn’t stop believing that it could happen.  I just didn’t know-how.

As I was doing my quiet time one morning this past week, the scripture that I came across was Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh. findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
So I started praying, and I asked God for divine intervention.  I told Him that I really wanted the tote bag and I asked Him to do something miraculous, for this to be able to happen.  By the way, it just happened to be the day before my last day that to qualify for the prize.

Now, I know that some of you may be thinking that it was so petty for me to pray for a tote bag.  However, what God has revealed to me on more than one occasion, is that if something matters to me, it matters to Him no matter the size.
I got up from my chair and put the picture of the tote bag right across from where I was sitting so that I could see it and stay focused on my goal, as I contacted my customers.  Well, I am Super Excited to share that God blessed me with one of the largest days that I have ever had in sales since I have been with this company.  All because I asked.

I had a customer that in the past two years had only purchased one small item from me, just one.  On the next to last day that I could possibly qualify she called me and made a huge purchase.  I knew immediately that God was working.

The next day another lady called that I had been waiting for a week to hear back from, and she ordered more than the first lady did.  God was writing this story, not me.  God totally gets the glory for my awesome week!
He is absolutely Amazing!!!

I love how He always does things in a way that only He can get the glory for.  There is no way that I could possibly take credit for how this all unfolded.  The message in this message is, no matter what it looks like right now, keep going. Pray and ask God for what your heart is desiring.  Don’t Give Up.  Keep believing and trusting.  Pray and keep working.  When you truly believe He will honor your faith.

Don’t Let Satan Distract You

Don’t Let Satan Distract You

Nehemiah 6:3
so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?”

Has God ever called you to do something, and the moment that you started to be obedient to His call, you were bombarded with obstacles and challenges from every direction?   I can honestly say that this has happened to me numerous times, and I am sure that I am not alone.

The first thing that we may think when this happens is, maybe this is not what I am supposed to be doing right now, or maybe I misunderstood what God was calling me to do.  Isn’t it funny how things can be so crystal clear to us one minute and the next minute we are second-guessing ourselves?   We allow Satan to plant his little devious seeds of doubt and fear in our heads.

Why I Love God’s Word

Why I Love God’s Word

I once heard someone on TV ask; if your house were on fire, what would be the one
thing that you would be certain to grab first?  I thought then, and I honestly think now,
that I would have to say my Bible.  For years, my most treasured possession has been
my Bible.
You see, over the years I have experienced lots of really difficult challenges.  Some of
these challenges were almost unbearable, but spending time just soaking up God’s
word each day has been my saving grace.
With God’s help, I have been able to muster up the strength and courage to keep
moving forward.  No matter what I am going through, or how difficult it is, I can pick
up my Bible, spend a few minutes reading it, and leave encouraged and comforted.  My
circumstances will not have changed during those moments, but something in God’s
word would have reminded me that He has me no matter what.  Reading the Bible
offers me peace that words cannot adequately describe.
Something that is such a mystery to me, and the thing that I really love most about
God’s word, is no matter how many times that I have read it, it is fresh and new to me
each time.  The words may be familiar, but God reveals a new message through the
same scripture, depending on what is going on in my life.   That is amazing to me!  His
word is truly alive and powerful as mentioned in Hebrews 4:12.
When I read God’s word;  I am directed, I am reminded, I am comforted, I am
encouraged, I am convicted, I am enlightened, I am taught, I am blessed and most of all
I am transformed!
I enjoy starting my day with God’s word and ending it by reading a few scriptures right
before bed.  It helps me to release the cares of my day, and to have a sweet sleep, free of
worry.   I do not know what your current routine is for starting and ending your
day, but may I highly recommend that you start with God and end with God.  Trust me,
you will be so blessed by doing so, and when you are, please don’t keep it to yourself.
Share your God story with
someone else, so that they too can experience the great blessing from this wonderful
treasure called the Bible.  If you do not quite see it as a treasure yet, just keep reading
and before you know it, you will not want to live without it, and at that point, you will
know that it has become your treasure also.

Romans 12:1-2
12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your
bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper

renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will
is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and
successful.  9  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts
and attitudes of the heart.
Psalms 1:2-3
but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and
night. 3  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in
season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

God Is Our Anchor

Two weeks ago 70% of the United States was covered in ice or snow.  This was definitely an all-time, historic winter event.  If you were surfing the news channels afterward, your heart was probably just as broken as mine, to see so many in the South, particularly Texas, without electricity and water.

Can you imagine being in temperatures of anywhere from 0-12 degrees, with no heat for days at a time?  Many had homes that were destroyed by water damage from busted pipes and they were having to find other places to temporarily house their families.
