Romans 8:28-29 (NIV)
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
Romans 8:28 (TPT)
28 So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.
Proverbs 16:4 (NIV)
The Lord works out everything to its proper end— even the wicked for a day of disaster.
Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)
21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

How are we called according to His purpose?

 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 (NIV)
13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as first fruits[a] to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 2:20-21 (NIV)
20 In a large house, there are articles not only of gold and silver but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. 21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

I am always blessed when I hear how God takes what looks like a disappointment or even a tragedy and works something good from it.

A month or so ago,  a friend was sharing with me, that her four-year-old son will be having his third open heart surgery in June. It breaks my heart to know that he will have to go through this again. I can’t even imagine what it must be like for his parents. Hopefully, this will be his last surgery.

Although this will be something challenging to go through, they are already seeing God’s hand move on their behalf.

Due to her son’s upcoming surgery, my friend decided to leave a very demanding management position. She thought it would make her life less stressful while they are going through this process. She also felt like she would have more time for her family. She decided to work for the same type of company, but not in a managerial capacity.

After a brief search, she landed the job that she thought would be perfect for her situation. Only a few months had passed by, when she realized that the new job would still be more of a workload than she would want, considering her son was going to be recovering from a surgery.

She felt it was time to have a conversation with her husband,  to let him know that she thought it was time for her to quit her full-time job and stay home with her son. They both agreed that this would be the best decision for their family at this time.

Their biggest concern was how this was going to affect their finances, after all, they were a two income family. They both realized that things would be changing drastically, but their family’s well-being was worth it to them.

All I can say at this point is watch God work!

Two years ago this lady was in a car wreck. Little did she know that the inconvenience due to some physical injuries that she incurred during the accident, would someday become a blessing for her and her family.

A few days after they had the conversation about her leaving her job and being home full time she received a bill in the mail from a medical facility charging her over $8,000. for medical services rendered due to the car wreck, that she was in over two years ago.  At that time,  she had gone and spoken with an attorney so that she would not be stuck paying huge medical bills, and especially since she was not at fault.

She told me that she honestly had forgotten that she had an attorney because it had been so long since they had communicated with him. It also just seemed strange that she was still being billed after so much time had gone by. She was informed that she would need to contact her attorney because she could be held liable for the new bills that had come in.

When she called her attorney regarding this recent bill of $8000. he informed her that she had something great headed her way, like a check for over $35,000. Can we say God is Awesome? After all her fees and medical bills were paid she would still have around $16,000. to put into a savings account.  She will not have the financial pressures that she would have had otherwise, while she is at home taking care of her son. Needless to say, she is overjoyed at how God is providing for her and her family in this situation.

She had already made arrangements with her husband to leave her job this month before her attorney told her that this would also be the month that her funds would arrive.  She felt like they had a definite approval, and confirmation from God that this is what she is supposed to do.

Ladies, only God could have orchestrated the timing of these events.  His timing is always perfect, and His plans are always for our good.

When the two of us visited, I told her that two years ago when she had her car accident,  that God knew that her son would need another heart surgery in a couple of years.  He worked everything out for her good.
From the inconvenience and discomfort due to the accident,  God has provided a way for her to be able to be with her son as he recovers. God has also provided a way for her to work from home to supplement their income. She has a home-based business that she started two years ago, and she feels that now is finally the time to seriously pursue it. This will be perfect for her because she won’t have to go back to a traditional workplace. She can be home for her family and have the flexibility of working when she wants to.

I would like to ask you, ladies, so please keep this family in your prayers, most especially this little boy. Pray that God guides the surgeon’s hands and that this child will have a speedy recovery. Also please send a praise up to God, for the way He has orchestrated every detail on their behalf.

God works all things, not just some, but all things out for good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.

Many times, the very things that look like they are put into motion to work against us, maybe the stepping stones that God uses to help us climb out of the hard or messy places in our lives.  Trust God’s timing, His purpose and His “Why”.  His plans are sure because He will work all things out for our good.

Whenever you are going through trials or adversity, just say thank you, Lord, I know that someway, somehow, you will work good from this and then trust Him to do so. Even through our deepest struggle He has a plan.
