What Is Your Vision For 2021?
Proverbs 29:18 KJV
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Proverbs 16:3 NIV
3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Proverbs 20:4 NLT
4 May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.
As 2020 draws to a close, this is a great time to look back over this past year and reflect on all that God has brought you through. It is also a great time, to start looking forward to the new things that He is about to do in the New Year.
If God says the same, we are only days away from ringing in 2021. This is a time to look forward with great anticipation and hope. It is time to take a great look at your life and reassess some things that you may need to change. Decide where you need to improve and decide what things need to be removed from your life completely. With the beginning of a new year, you are being given a clean slate to make a fresh start.
I have noticed in the past few years that instead of setting goals, some people select a word for the year, and that one word may be their focus for the entire year. Let’s just say the word is intentional. Their focus will be on being intentional in all that they do for a year. Whether you prefer to select a word or set a goal, I encourage you to write your plan down. Pray and consult with God for guidance and direction, for the coming year. Pray for wisdom, and ask Him what He desires of you.
Also, be sure you ask Him how you can joyfully serve Him best in 2021. I encourage you to select a scripture that you can go to for strength, on the days when it may be difficult to follow through on what you have committed to do for the year.
Whatever you decide to do, whether selecting a word for the year or setting a goal, just imagine how great you will feel at the end of 2021 when you can say; with God’s help, I reached my goal. Some will be able to say that I focused on this one word all year and my life has changed for the better because of it.
We all desire to be better. This process starts with a vision of what we want our lives to be like, and then a commitment to do what is required to make that happen. It is not always easy, but so worth the effort.
Always remember, others are watching your journey. Someone else may be encouraged to live a better life, just by watching the example that you set.
There are some goals that are very personal, such as areas of your life that you desire to improve in, that no one will ever be able to see. Remember, you will know and God will know. So be sure you honor your commitment.
We honor God when we choose to live better lives. I pray that in 2021 you will choose to honor Him in the way that you live your life. I pray that this will be the year that you grow closer to Him than ever before and that you will be blessed with a wonderful and prosperous New Year! I pray that you will know and feel God’s presence and protection, at all times and at every turn throughout the year. May God richly bless you with an extra measure of joy and peace in 2021!
