What Are You Holding On To?

32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Mark 11:25
25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Are you holding on to an offense from years past?  Maybe it was an unkind word that was spoken, or a promise that was broken, or the offense could have been  something that was even more serious.
If you have revisited this offense over and over in your mind, you have probably not forgiven the offender.  Maybe it’s time to forgive so that the person who offended you no longer takes up real estate in your mind. By forgiving the offender you will set your own self free.
Even if you feel like you are ok, ask yourself, am I holding on to something from my past that is affecting my ability to move forward?  You see unforgiveness is about living in the past, and when you see people struggling to move forward, many times they are living in unforgiveness.
Sometimes we just need to let things go and when we do, they let us go as well. Until we come to that place mentally, we are held captive by our past hurts.
God commands us in Mark 11: 25-26  that if we have anything against anyone, when we stand to pray, forgive them.  I realize that this is a lot easier said than done, and that could be for a couple of reasons. It could have to do with the magnitude of the offense, or because of the relationship of the offender to you.
The important thing to remember in all of this is, how God forgives us is contingent on how we forgive others.   I don’t know about you, but I personally want to be forgiven for my transgressions, so my plan is to forgive even when it still hurts and even when it doesn’t make sense to do so.  I will allow God to fight my battles.
As Christians we have to be willing to extend grace and forgiveness to others, just as Christ has done for each of us.  Let’s represent Christ well by doing what He has commanded us to do. Let’s forgive those who have wronged us.
Tips On How To Forgive And Release What You Are Holding On To:
1.Pray, and ask God for the strength to do the right thing.
2. If it is possible and if it is safe, arrange a meeting with your offender and share your honest feelings.
3. Pray for the person that offended you.
4. Journal, get your feelings out of you and on paper.
5. Depending on the depth of the offense you may want to get counseling. I strongly suggest that you seek Christian counseling.
Tips On What Not To Do If You Have Been Offended
1. Don’t talk ugly about the person who offended you to other people.
2. Don’t stop praying for the person until this situation is resolved.
3. Don’t live in shame.
4. Don’t blame yourself for what someone else did.
5. Don’t stop living your life.
6. Don’t let it rob you of your joy.
7. Don’t put others in the same category as the person that offended you, it will cause you to have trust issues.

Matthew 18:21-22
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[a]

Cuddles And Snuggles

Children are a heritage from the Lord,  offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.

A few days ago I was standing in line behind a lady who was holding her precious new born baby.  I asked her how old her baby was and she told me that she was ten days old.  I asked her if this was her first child and she told me that she had two sons also, so this was number three.
Seeing this little baby brought back a flood of memories of when my daughter was a little girl.  She is an adult now and I can truly say that I have enjoyed her immensely at every stage of her life.
Today I would just like to encourage all of the young moms out there to just hang in there.  First of all, be very clear, moms have the most important job on the planet and it is by far the most difficult one as well. But I must also add that it is also the most rewarding job on the planet.
There will be days when you are totally exhausted from running five thousand different directions all in the course of one day or times when you have been up all night because your sweet little one has been running a 101 fever.   There will also be nights when you are too tired to even think about doing the dishes before bed or days when you are still in your PJ”s at 3:00 in the afternoon.
There will be periods of time when you may not get to eat a warm meal for months.  This is because by the time you take care of everyone else your food is cold, but you will gladly do it over and over again for your family.  I don’t recommend eating cold food, but it just tends to happen this way.
There will be football, basketball, and baseball games or cheer and dance practices.  Although a good nap would certainly come in handy on many days, you will feel the need to attend these events.  So you will sacrifice what energy and time you have left to support your children.
You will stand in a kitchen barely holding it together to make one more healthy meal, instead of running through a Fast Food restaurant, because you want your family to eat healthy.
You may be asking, why am I sharing all of this, and the answer is, because I have been there. I have been frazzled and hanging on by a thread and I want you to know that you are not the only mom walking through life tired and needing a break.
I want you to also know that God sees you and although you may not know how you are going to get through all that is ahead of you, God has a perfect plan and His grace is sufficient.  Part of His perfect plan is that we take one day at a time.  Even if you are falling asleep praying each night, continue going before God asking Him to give you strength  for each new day and He will. I am a living witness that He will equip and give you strength to keep going.
Most importantly remember that your children are truly a gift from God and nothing that you will ever do in this life will be more important than raising your
children and being the steward over them that God has called you to be.  Enjoy your children.  Make sweet memories with them.
They will be graduating and going off to college before you know it and when that happens, you will wonder where in the world did the years go.  So for sanity sake, sneak in a long bubble bath every now and then but enjoy those sweet blessings that heaven has sent you and cherish every cuddle and snuggle.  Because one day the cuddle and snuggle phase will be gone and you will miss those precious years.  May God bless all of you sweet moms out there!

15 But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead;  he will surely take me to himself.

God Is The Great Physician

14 Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;  save me and I will be saved,  for you are the one I praise.
Isaiah 53:5
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Psalm 103:2-3
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
1 Peter 2:24-25
24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,”[a] but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

A little over three weeks ago I had a tonsillectomy.  I had heard horrendous things about having a tonsillectomy as an adult.  I was told by several people that the recovery was so much worse for adults than for children.  Several weeks before my surgery, I even had one doctor tell me that I was going to experience the worst sore throat of my life. Everyone was so encouraging, that I could hardly wait for this painful journey to get started.  By the way, that’s a joke!  And unfortunately, the truth is that all of these people were 110% correct!  I can without a doubt report that it was no fun at all!
However, the beauty in all of this is how day after day I noticed God’s healing power on display.  Going from a throat that was so swollen inside that I could only have a liquid diet, to being able to eat a hamburger straight off the grill last night.  Not only that, but by God’s healing hand I went from experiencing the most severe pain ever, to three weeks later feeling no pain at all.
Yahweh Rapha means God who heals and He certainly does just that.
Another aspect of healing is rest. I had been working so many hours the last few months and pushing a lot harder than normal, and my body just needed to rest. Through this healing process God also provided a time to rest my body. His timing was perfect.
The good news is that just as God healed me physically,  He also heals spiritually.   Are you in need of healing today?  Well let me tell you God is the Great Physician.  Allow Him to heal you. If you are in need of spiritual healing, just surrender your will to His. He will heal and transform you.  You will never regret your surrender,  because with surrender comes healing and definitely a peace that will surpass all understanding.

Blessings to you on your new health journey, whether physical or spiritual, just a touch of His garment will bring divine healing from the one Who heals, Yahweh Rapha!

24 So Jesus went with him.

A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”

31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
