A women’s heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.”

Matthew 25:35-46
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Hebrews 13:16
16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Have you ever wondered how many times in the course of a day that we think of ourselves? We don’t usually say; Lord will you place someone in my path today that needs a blessing.
A large percentage of our time is spent on thoughts of ourselves, me, me, me, I ,I, I and my, my, my. Doesn’t this make you wonder if there is anyone else in the world that could possibly matter. As long as our focus is on ourselves and our own problems we will never know what difference we could have made in the lives of others.
Just for today let’s challenge ourselves to be more others focused, and who knows maybe you’ll be inspired to do this again next week, you may even move from a weekly basis to looking for an opportunity to do an act of kindness every single day. Ask yourself who can I bless today? Suddenly opportunities are everywhere. It is amazing how we can find opportunities when we are purposefully looking for them. Allow others to see Christ in you. Start by being kind to those that you live with. Share a smile, bake and take a dish to someone that is ill, visit someone in a hospital or nursing home. Pick up a bouquet of flowers for someone that is having a hard day or mail them a card. Encourage someone that is struggling. Offer to keep a friend’s child so that mom can take a much needed nap. Give someone a pat on the back and say “great job.” Give a listening ear to someone that needs to talk. Volunteer your time for worthy cause. There is no end to the list of things that could make a difference in someone’s day.
Step outside of you for today. Share the love of Christ with others and watch it boomerang back to you. Just as when you smile someone automatically returns a smile back to you, being kind creates a desire in others that makes them want to be kind also. You see kindness is contagious. Showing kindness to others truly is the best way to have a great day. It is impossible to do something great for someone else and not feel better about yourself. The formula for a joy filled life is:
Jesus- 1st
Others- 2nd
You – 3rd
2nd Peter 1:5-11
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Colossians 3:12
12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
1st Corinthians 13:4
4 Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant.
Make It A Blessed and A Joy Filled Day.
