Don’t Fall For Satan’s Lies

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Lately, I have been reading two books regarding the way that Satan works.  What I have learned is the only weapon that he has, are lies that he tells us.  And they only work, if we choose to believe them.  He tells us lies to
create doubt and fear inside of us.  When we are stuck in doubt and fear we become ineffective.

We all have a choice as to whom we will believe and who we will serve.   We must choose wisely because who we believe, affects how we move through life.  We will either walk in fear or in faith, based on what and who we believe.  We will either lead a life of victory or a life of defeat, based on our beliefs.  Today I encourage you to study God’s word so that you are very clear on His promises and His character.  This way you will know when something contradicts God’s word or His character.  Anytime you see or hear anything that does not line up with God’s word, you know that it’s straight from Satan.  Don’t fall for his lies.  God has a better plan for your life, so look up, not down.
We are daughters of the King, and we must believe and live like we are.
I have one question for you today; Do you want to be held hostage by Satan’s lies, or would you like to be liberated and set free by God’s truth?  It really does boil down to whom you choose to believe.  Remember who you choose to believe will ultimately be who you will serve.
So today I will share a few scriptures about the character of God, and some about the character of Satan.  I hope that through reading these scriptures you become even more convinced, that God always has our best interest in mind.  He desires to give to us, wherein contrast Satan is always taking from us.  God desires that we have life and have it more abundantly.  Satan desires to destroy us through his manipulative tactics, just as he deceived Eve in the garden.  God is love and full of righteousness and truth. Scripture says He cannot lie.  Satan is full of hate and envy.  Scripture says that he is the Father of Lies.  The contrast between these two is undeniable.  Take a look at the following scriptures below:

Truths About God

Numbers 23:19 NLT
God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act?  Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.

holy and awesome is his name.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
John 3:16 NIV
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1st Corinthians 10:13 NIV
13 No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Deuteronomy 10:14-22 NIV
14 To the Lord your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it. 15 Yet the Lord set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today. 16 Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer. 17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. 18 He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. 19 And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt. 20 Fear the Lord your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name. 21 He is the one you praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes. 22 Your ancestors who went down into Egypt were seventy in all, and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Micah 7:18-19 NIV
Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.
19 You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot
and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
1st John 1:5 NIV
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
1st John 4:7-9 NIV
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;  great is your faithfulness.
Psalm 25:8-10 NIV
Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.

Truths About Satan
John 8:44 NLT
44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
1st Peter 5:8 NLT
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
Genesis 3:1-6 NIV
The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”
“Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’”
“You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”
The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.
Ephesians 6:12 NLT
12 For we[a] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Luke 13:16 NIV
16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
Isaiah 14:12-14 NLT
“How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning!
You have been thrown down to the earth,  you who destroyed the nations of the world.
13 For you said to yourself,  ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars.
I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north.[a]
14 I will climb to the highest heavens  and be like the Most High.’
2nd Corinthians 11:14 NLT
14 But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
Daniel 10:12-14 NIV
12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”
Luke 4:1-13 NIV
Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted[a] by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.
The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’[b]The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’[c]
The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. 10 For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully;
11 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[d]
12 Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[e]
13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

God is Victorious
Revelation 12: 7-9
Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
Joshua 24:15
15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
