 Each year the week between Christmas and New Year is a time when I try to catch my breath from all that I have gone through during the weeks leading up to Christmas. It is a time when I try to reflect on the past year, as well as with great anticipation look forward to the approaching New Year.
I am always excited to have a fresh start and a clean slate. By this time the Christmas tree has been taken down and the decorations are boxed up. Wow life is back to normal and here we go again. We get to start all back over again. The big question is will I get it right this coming year? I always try to take time to get alone, just God and I and set a new goal in an area I feel I could use some improvements in. I try to set a goal that when reached will make me better mentally, physically or spiritually or all three.
I personally set goals because I know that the results of having set them in the past has proven to have been a great benefit in helping me to grow. God gave us the ability to dream and to look forward with hope. I think that this is the best medicine especially for those who are in circumstances that they feel are unbearable.
The ability to dream is a huge gift. It gives us an opportunity with God’s help and our faith to create something different for ourselves, to change what we don’t like in some cases. Just the anticipation of things being better or different sometimes gives us a Fresh Hope. Goals are simply dreams with a completion date on them.
In this next week why not create a vision board? Write your dreams out on the board and have pictures that correspond with it. Look at it each day as a reminder to ask God to point you in the direction you should go, provided this lines up with His will for your life. With His help you will move from it being a great dream to reality. Be sure you also write your goals down in a special notebook or journal so that at the end of 2015 you can look back during your time of reflection and see how God has blessed you. Your dreams may not all come to fruition in one year but keep working and praying. If you know that the dream is what God has placed on your heart, even though it hasn’t happened yet, change the completion date not the goal or dream. Hold fast to it. It may require some serious prayer and faith on your part to realize your dream. Watch your words during this process they are powerful. Don’t doubt God’s ability to work through you to achieve what you strongly feel he has placed in you heart to do.
 In 2015 make a real commitment to live your life purposefully don’t just drift from one day into another. Create energy and excitement in your life. A new dream is the fuel that drives you to experience this new excitement, and remember we never get too old to dream. As long as we are breathing we should look at life with great anticipation and hope. The mere fact that we are breathing means that God still has a work for us to do.  Make your own life stronger and healthier and you will surely see that you will want to pour into the lives of others as well.
Live your life to the fullest potential in 2015. May you be blessed with God’s protection and provision. Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Most importantly serve our God faithfully and just watch the blessings flow.
