Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1st John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

As we continue our series on forgiveness, today’s lesson will be on forgiving ourselves. I feel sure that we all at one time or another have struggled with this. Our tendency is to think we have messed up so badly that God could never forgive us. We beat ourselves up over something that we have done that we knew was wrong to do, or maybe it was something we simply failed to do, only later to feel disappointed in ourselves, and possibly even experience embarrassment before others and certainly shame before God.

Our inability to forgive ourselves for some reason makes us think that God couldn’t possibly forgive us either. As usual we limit God and His great abilities because we base his character on our own. There again boxing Him in. This is just what Satan wants us to do. He wants us to be held captive in our thought process and in unforgiveness. He knows that guilt paralyzes us. Just know that if we are stuck in guilt and unworthiness we will be ineffective for God’s Kingdom.
Remember, Daniel committed murder, he repented and God forgave him.

The woman at the well had five husbands and God forgave her.

Walk in the freedom of forgiveness God has given you; fully repent and trust that God is not one that He should lie. He said you were forgiven and that nothing could separate you from His love.

Trust His words, not only are they Holy, they are true.

Be clear, there are always consequences for sin, but our sin does not in any way negate God’s love for us. Stop and have a praise moment today, and thank Him for His faithfulness towards us and His abundant love that He so richly bestows upon us.
Jeremiah 3:12-13
…‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you.
For I am merciful,’ says the Lord;
‘I will not remain angry forever.
13 Only acknowledge your iniquity,
That you have transgressed against the Lord your God,
And have scattered your charms
To alien deities under every green tree,
And you have not obeyed My voice,’ says the Lord.
1st John 1:7
7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
