T he hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season will begin this week with Thanksgiving. I would like to ask each of you to just take a minute. Take a minute to pull away from the pie making, and meal planning to just silently spend some time with the Great and Awesome God of this Universe and just say “Thank You”.
Say Thank you for the many miles that you have traveled in the past year. Say thank you that each time you arrived at your destination safely. Say thank you for the job that you complain about from time to time, when there are others who do not have one. Say Thank you for the spouse that you have been blessed with, warts and all.
Thank Him for the warm home you have to go back to each day. If you are a parent, thank Him for your beautiful children. Thank Him for the friends that have hung in there with you through the thick and the thin. Thank Him for your health and strength, and for your presence of mind. Thank Him even for the disappointments and the not so fun stuff that you may have gone through since last Thanksgiving. Remember, in every one of your undesired trials there was a lesson, which therefore became your blessing. Thank Him for all that He has done and even the wonderful plans that He has for your precious life that you don’t even know about yet.
Just say thank you Lord for another Thanksgiving Day, not just for the food but for all that you have brought me through this past year. Say thank you for all that you have experienced and for all that you have learned about your God through the good times and the bad. Say thank you for His grace, His mercy, His provision, and His faithfulness. Just take a minute. Our God is so worthy of your praise!
To each of you Be Blessed and have a Very Happy Thanksgiving!
