Women and Their Words-Part II

Proverbs 31: 26 –
She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness

Part II

Ladies we have the ability to use our words to create joy in our homes. Our words set the tone for our family’s day. I am sure you have heard the expression, “If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”. This quote usually gets a chuckle because we all can relate and we all know that it is so very true.

Graduation

Ask yourself: can I speak as boldly and confidently about my life as Paul did regarding his?

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing
2nd Timothy 4:7-8

This past weekend my one and only child graduated from High School. Friends and family came from every direction to celebrate her 13 years of hard work and dedication. (I am counting Kindergarten also đŸ™‚ ).

Of course no celebration is complete without food and we had plenty of that (all weekend long).

A Tribute to Mothers

Happy Mother’s Day!

This was originally posted in May of 2013, and many of you enjoyed reading it so I thought I would share it again.

Proverbs 31 NKJV
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her.

One of the most precious gifts that God has granted us is our mothers. God only can love deeper, and stronger than a mother. She possesses so many of the characteristics of God. She is patient and self sacrificing, she loves unconditionally, she always sees the best in her children, she protects them, and she is so honored to care for each one of them. She has the ability to make each child feel as though they are her favorite of all. She nurtures and acknowledges their gifts and talents. A mom is her child’s greatest cheerleader; she is their source of security.

Women and Friendships

Proverbs 18:24 (KJV)
24 A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

My Dear Sisters, today I would like to explore what it means to be a great friend. I am concerned that so many friendships are thrown to the wayside and discarded like yesterday’s newspaper; and usually over something very minor. We are so quick anymore to take our toys and leave the sandbox headed straight for home.

We are no longer as willing to talk and work patiently through situations. As Christian Women we are to go to one another directly and speak to each other one on one in love and not judgment, when we have differences. We are to be the examples Christ would have us to be, to our sisters, daughters, nieces etc. Christ showed us everything we needed to see in the characteristics of a great friend.

Forgiving God – Part III

Job 1:21-22(NIV)
21…..The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”
22 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

Have you ever found yourself angry with God? Maybe you have experienced losing a mate unexpectedly or the loss of a child. Maybe, you’ve lost your only means of income, or you have gone through the disappointment of a divorce. You may have been told, that you have cancer, or you received the news that someone that you love dearly has a severe illness. You may be frustrated over something as simple as not hearing from God after many years of praying over a situation and seeing no change.

Forgiving Yourself- Part II

Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1st John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

As we continue our series on forgiveness, today’s lesson will be on forgiving ourselves. I feel sure that we all at one time or another have struggled with this. Our tendency is to think we have messed up so badly that God could never forgive us. We beat ourselves up over something that we have done that we knew was wrong to do, or maybe it was something we simply failed to do, only later to feel disappointed in ourselves, and possibly even experience embarrassment before others and certainly shame before God.
