The Benefits Of Being In The Presence Of God
Today I would like to share just a few of the benefits that I have been blessed to experience, by being in the presence of God. My prayer is that you will faithfully spend time in His presence every day, and experience for yourself the rich blessings that come with having an intentional intimate relationship with God. Make every effort to cling close to Him and never ever doubt His love for you.
1. There is hope in the presence of God.
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
2. There is love in the presence of God.
Romans 8:35, 37-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.[a]
3. There is joy in the presence of God.
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
4. There is peace in the presence of God.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.
But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”
5. There is protection in the presence of God.
2 Thessalonians 3:3-5
3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 4 We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. 5 May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
17.no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,”
declares the Lord.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
6. There is comfort in the presence of God.
4. Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
In that day you will say: “I will praise you, Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me.
2 Corinthians 1:4
4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
7. There is the provision in the presence of God.
19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!
1 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
9. There are possibilities in the presence of God.
26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
27 “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
10. There is compassion in the presence of God.
The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.
Psalm 103:13-14As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; 14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
11. There is strength and power in the presence of God.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
12. There is mercy in the presence of God.
2 Samuel 24:14
14 David said to Gad, “I am in deep distress. Let us fall into the hands of the Lord, for his mercy is great; but do not let me fall into human hands.”
22 It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
13. There is grace in the presence of God.
2 Corinthians 9:8
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works so that no one can boast.
14. There is healing and restoration in the presence of God.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Psalm 103: 2-3
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
15. There is forgiveness in the presence of God.
He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
1 John 2:1-22
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Micah 7: 18-19
Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.
19 You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
